Cat Eating Off Chopsticks!

Some people might think this is just crazy, but I think it's crazy CUTE! I especially like it when the cat gets impatient and bats his paws at the chopsticks or the hand. And why is the cat called 'squirrel-like' in the video title? Because he is standing up? Or do sqirrels also enjoy eating off of chopsticks?

I've Been Wondering...

Today I got the webcam I ordered, a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000. It's the first webcam I've ever had, and I'm already having lots of fun with it. It comes with software that lets you easily create silly videos like the one below:

Return of Simba Crazy Cat

My neighbor's cat, Simba, who I wrote about in another recent post, has been sneaking into my house and peeing on things. Ugh. Yesterday I heard growling outside my front door. I looked out and saw Simba sprawled out on the front stoop, as if he belonged there, and my cat, Rexie, wanting to come inside, but not wanting to get too close to Crazy Simba. I grabbed my camera and got this little video of Simba's quick departure. The laugh track at the end was synchronistically provided by a party that was going on at the posh resort across the street from where I live.

Kim & The Caballeros

I just came across this video of my good friend Kim, of Kim and the Caballeros, playing a song at the Sagebrush Inn in Taos, New Mexico. The fellow behind and to the right of Kim is her husband Chip. If you like their music, there are several CDs available, over at: www.kimandthecaballeros.com

Here is Kim's description of how she came to be a twangy country singer:

"My mom force fed old country (we’re talkin’ Loretta, Cash, Waylon, Willie and the boys) to me at an early age, and I rebelled, first playing bass in an 80s rock band, “The Bohiems”, later becoming a folkie, still leaning in the rock genre, but mostly writing tortured love songs and political/social stuff in the band “Burning Joan.” For giggles, in 2003 I recorded a bastardized version of “Blue Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain” for my mom’s birthday, and it all took off from there. I realized my roots had caught up to me and I liked it."

Napping On The New Cat Bed

I got a very comfy new bed for the kitties a few days ago, and it's a huge hit. In the video below we see Rexie, in grey fur, Fieldsie, wearing orange fur, and Gamma in the middle. These three are all related to each other, and often snooze together. In part of the video you can see that Fieldsie is taking great heaving breaths... that is because he is purring so hard!! He has the loudest purr of any cat I've ever known.

Fieldsie, Sitting On My Lap, Purring...

Fieldsie is my largest cat, and probably my best natured one as well. One of the other cats, LaLa, has a crush on Fieldsie. I think that is because she can sense how kind he is. Fieldsie is about ten years old.

I know it's kinda dark, but I would have had to have gotten up to create better lighting, and that would have disturbed Fieldsie, so it was not done.

Conversations With Pineapple

I haven't yet gotten the hang of creating videos... All the same, I thought you might enjoy this attempted interview with Pineapple St. John, a charming fellow who was a recent guest at my home, with his brother RumTum, while his humans were traveling.

Too Happy? Now There Is Help!!

I personally don't need this, but I can certainly think of some cheerful, smiley people I'd like dosed up with this... especially people who are all perky first thing in the morning. I often just want to throw something at those people. Thanks to the folks at The Onion for another illuminating video report.

Disturbing thought, but just in case McCain somehow manages to get elected, here is a back-up plan:

Farewell to Power

I offer this for those who may be interested: A view of what is happening now on Planet Earth, from the perspective of one who is not currently embodied here, Adamus Saint-Germain. He speaks of the fall of power all across our world, and of great changes to come. This can bring up fear, as we have certainly seen during the current financial upheavals, but he also assures us there is much good news that we can look forward to, as the old falls away and creates space for the new to enter. Adamus Saint-Germain is channeled through Geoffrey Hoppe of the Crimson Circle.

An Open Heart In Italy

There is a woman in Italy, named Marilyn Thomas, who I've been aware of for some time now, because we both visit the same online discussion board. I've known that she does a lot of good work taking in abandoned and abused dogs. But it wasn't until I saw this video she just put together that I really understood the full extent of the wonderful things she is doing with all these animals. What love and joy she is bringing into this world! If you would like to help Marilyn continue this, by sponsoring one of her animals, or just making a one time donation, you can write to her for details, at: mmhobr@tin.it But first, watch this video, and feel your heart open:

An Engineer's Guide to Cats

This is excellent information on the properties of cats. Thanks out to my pal Snati for pointing this out to me.

Here is the description of this video, by its creator:
"Two professional engineers illustrate the proper care and practical benefits of cats. None of the cats, humans, or engineers were mistreated in the making of this film. They were however, slightly annoyed. Song on ending credits is called "Sparky's New Bike" from Shockwave-sound.com royalty free music website. "
