Recent Afternoon Rainbows

Two days ago, and again today, it has gotten stormy in the afternoon, with rainbows appearing in the sky towards the Sangre de Cristo ('Blood of Christ') mountains.  Here are photos I got each day, taken standing right in front of my house south of Taos.  The first is of a very high rainbow, a double rainbow, actually, and then the second is of today's low rainbow.

Magic Moon Over New Mexico

Here are a few minutes I recorded from my driveway of the majestic full moon playing peek-a-boo with clouds in the sky around 11 PM. Such beauty!!

Big Fluffy Clouds

Sometimes the clouds around here almost look solid enough to walk upon.  I pulled off the road near Taos to take these photos.  You can see the fall colors from the changing aspen trees in the last photo.

Birthday Sky

A couple of months ago, on my birthday, I drove down to Santa Fe.  As I drove down there were some heavy rain storms, followed by wonderful rainbows.  And as I drove back north again, there were some magnificent sunset cloud formations.  It felt as if the sky was celebrating my birthday with me.  Here are some photos I took:

Saturday Sunrise Over New Mexico

I was at work from Friday night into Saturday morning. As it began to get light out, I happened to glance out the front door and saw a magnificent sunrise lighting up the sky with color. Happily, I had my camera with me, and below are some photos I took, looking across the parking area, as the sky grew lighter:
