Stuck In Winter

It's winter. To prove this point, the driveway where I work is a sea of ice, broken only by a few gigantic potholes. The other night, as I drove into work, I managed to drive into a couple of these potholes, getting my car's front driver's side wheel stuck in one hole and rear driver's side wheel stuck in another. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Above is a photo I took of the sad scene, after all efforts to get the car UNstuck had failed. You can see there are a couple of large ORBS hovering over the car. I believe they are disembodied spirit beings, laughing at my human trials and tribulations. They didn't even offer to help, the bastards! I wound up having to call a tow service to haul the car out of the holes. Jeeeesh!

Gamma Sandwich

Zebbie, Gamma, and Rexie, in a photo taken a few nights ago. You can't see it, buried underneath them, but they are all trying to squish into a single kitty bed that is really only big enough for one of them. They don't care... they just pile on anyway!

No Cats Crossing Today!

Here is what the sign at the end of my driveway looked Sunday morning when I got home from work. There's already a LOT of snow piled up- the bottom of the sign is at least a couple of feet high off the ground.

And here is what it looked like 24 hours later:

Henry Checks It Out...

We've just been hit by another BIG snow storm here in northern New Mexico. I'm slowly digging out my driveway today. Henry decided to come outside and have a look at my progress a little while ago. In the photos below, we see him venturing forth on the path I dug out, coming over towards me, and then deciding "Oh Hell, no!" and turning tail and rapidly retreating back inside. Yeah, sure. That's fine for him. HE doesn't have to stay out there and shovel out the rest of the driveway.

"I'll go out the in door", said The Cat

Last night my dog, Lucy, broke the cat door, when her butt, which, much like my own, has generously expanded with age, would not fit though. For now, I've hung a dish towel over the hole where the cat door used to be, to keep at least some of the frigid winter air out of the house. This morning I just happened to be standing outside with my camera when I saw Boo pondering whether he wanted to try to enter through the new dish towel door. The moment Boo finally decided to go in, Henry decided to go out, and they met in the middle.
