Attack of the Crab Monsters (1957)

Do you like sci-fi movies from the 1950s? I love them, and I just found this classic gem, Attack of the Crab Monsters, on youtube. Yay!

Scientists become trapped on an island with crabs that have been affected by radiation from atomic bomb blasts. The crabs have mutated into giant telepathic killers! Telepathic? Yes! The giant crab monsters can speak to the minds of the surviving scientists, using the voices of the scientists they have already eaten.

This was a favorite of mine as a child, and I haven't seen it in over 40 years. Now, I present the great trailer for this movie for your viewing pleasure:

Flowers In Morning Sun

These flowers are growing a few yards away from the office where I work. This photo was taken shortly after the sun came up Saturday morning.

Creepy Bug

This creature was crawling around at work this morning. I don't know what he is, but I'm hoping he stays away from my feet!

UPDATE: It appears, after doing some research online, that this is a 'camel spider'. They have a very bad reputation for being really dangerous, but much of what is said about them is not correct. They can give a painful bite, but they are not venomous. This particular one was aggressive when I tried to shoo it away. Instead of retreating, as most bugs would, it turned towards me and raised its large front legs (or whatever those are) in a threatening manner. I got the message and backed away. After that, though, it seemed content enough to be photographed.
