But it was so scared and tiny that it wouldn't eat. I was going to nurse it with a tiny bottle but I was afraid I would scare it too much.
Well the poor thing was dead the next morning. Either it was hurt or just really scared to death. I let him loose too soon, and he was not able to fly away, as I'd hoped, but instead glided to the ground and was immediately pounced upon and carried off by my cat Henry, who'd been hiding in the bushes. Well, at least he had a day feasting upon the goodies I provided for him before moving on to wherever starlings move onto after they have met their final cat...Jayahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04060651148425906843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6495057289153794613.post-52845719865192346612010-05-25T07:23:27.617-07:002010-05-25T07:23:27.617-07:00Good Luck with the bird, he's very pretty!Good Luck with the bird, he's very pretty!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6495057289153794613.post-58450367443359011032010-05-24T23:58:52.587-07:002010-05-24T23:58:52.587-07:00I have no idea what kind of bird he is, other than...I have no idea what kind of bird he is, other than gorgeous! That's great that you managed to rescue it. These little guys seem fragile, but sometimes they are surprisingly resilient.

If nobody can ID him, you might try this link at whatbird.com - it will take a bit of pecking and clicking, but I bet you can find out what he is.

http://identify.whatbird.com/mwg/_/0/attrs.aspxJanisshttp://www.sparklecat.comnoreply@blogger.com
