Meme-O-Rama Time

I've gotten tagged for a meme, asking 'Why Do You Blog?', by Aldon Hynes. So here we go...

Aldon himself is a good example of why I blog. Aldon first visited my blog because my cat, Rexie, told him to do so, over on Twitter. If I didn't have a blog, Rexie wouldn't have been able to invite Aldon over, and I wouldn't have had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of a man who does what a cat tells him to. I feel there is a real shortage of humans who are clever enough to follow the instructions they are given by cats, so if I have to blog to find these humans, it is well worth it.

I began to blog a few short weeks ago because someone over at a discussion board I hang around on said: "Have you thought about starting a blog?" No. I had not thought about starting a blog. But, after reading that question, I did. Yes indeed. A Blog!! That's JUST what's called for, I thought to myself. I must start a blog. At once. And the rest, as they say, is history. It became clear within the first 24 hours that blogging is highly addictive. So that is how I began to blog, and that is why I continue- I can't help it. MUST BLOG. Even my cats know this. They used to say "Meow". Now half of them are saying "Og?", as if to inquire whether I have blogged yet today. They have such sweet furry looks of expectation as they ask about my blogging, I simply could not bear to disappoint them.

In fact, blogging is SO addictive and distracting that I am pondering the possibility that it might be part of a plot for world domination by creepy aliens. Step 1 - Get the humans of Planet Earth blogging, so they will not notice when we land and begin our takeover. If this is their plan, I think they will succeed. I know that if a space ship full of evil aliens lands in my back yard, I'm not going to rush to fight them off, or call the authorities, no, I'm going to rush to my computer to blog about it. I will title the post: "Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!"

To tell the truth, I'm a bit mystified as to why I blog. By nature I'm a hermit, usually only interacting with humans when it is unavoidable. Blogging is sort of like being sociable without having to interact in person with anyone. So maybe I am, as a coworker recently said, 'becoming more sociable'. At least as long as the humans stay on the other side of their own computer monitors!

Now... I must tag some other bloggers.... I'll be back with that part later. Stay tuned. (But don't hold your breath, because it'll probably be a while, and I'd feel bad if you expired while I was off wandering aimlessly, care free and unaware of your dwindling oxygen status.)

June 14th Update... I hope you followed the directions in the paragraph above, and did NOT hold your breath. Because I never did get around to tagging anyone else! However, I did just get tagged for this meme again by the lovely and talented Kim, over at laketrees. Kim did not ramble on about her 5 reasons, choosing to keep it simple, as you can see in her 5 Reasons post.

Digg!

A painting, sure... and a bio? Hmmm... decisions, decisions... let me ponder on that a bit. I got tagged for the '8 Random Things' meme, and I haven't come up with those yet... wish I'd been born with two heads or something, so I'd have something really interesting and unique to say! I kept thinking up things that weren't actually about ME. It's as if I am only the witness to this life, and not actually here... feels that way sometimes. Uh-oh, I'm rambling again!
